Question about Shipping Charges

I ordered the PF2 softcover and module (#4783161). When I reviewed the order it said it was shipping via Amazon standard shipping. I'm being charged $13.80 for shipping to NYC.

I'm an Amazon Prime member - if Paizo is not shipping direct to me why am I being charged for an Amazon delivery? As a Prime member I receive 2nd day free shipping.

If I knew it was coming from Amazon I was would have ordered direct from them.

Thanks

Hello Gunny,

This is a common misconception with the shipping service: Amazon Fulfillment Services. There are some distinctions between the Amazon Fulfillment Services and orders placed through Amazon.

Firstly, the order is not an Amazon order. Amazon will have no record of your order (we do), and it is not attached to any individuals Amazon account. The books also are not pulling from Amazon stock. This is our stock of books. Due to this, Amazon order specific promotions such as Prime do not apply.

Think of Amazon Fulfillment Services as a shipping method on equal ground with UPS and the Postal Service. They will interact with the books and orders the same way: only as a shipping service. The advantage of using Amazon Fulfillment Services over another shipping service is that they are able to aim to get individuals the book based on the release date for the product, as opposed to the more generic transit estimates of other shipping methods.

If you are a customer with Amazon, this is a very different Amazon service than you are used to. The name is quite misleading, but I hope this explanation has clarified the difference between an Amazon order and an order through Paizo using shipping through Amazon Fulfillment Services.

Thank you!
