I've got a player running a large character, who is starting to get frustrated that his guy keeps getting stopped by small creatures. So far I've been holding to the rules, but it's starting to make less and less sense, and I'm starting to think that a +/- 2 situational modifier would make sense for each size difference when it comes to moving others in combat. Obviously, this would be a house rule, I cant find anything to support it in the books, but was wondering what others thought. Pros, cons, thoughts?

I personally don't think it's a house rule. It's a circumstance bonus which the GM determines. If you think size affects the outcome, then as GM you can assign a circumstance bonus. Nothing in StarFinder to my knowledge actually says that size has no effect on combat.
As with any gaming group, your players need to have some understanding of your style and you need to be consistent.
The question of whether size affects hitting and being hit is separate. You as GM could decide to give circumstance bonuses for size to hit or be hit, or not. If you do, you don't have to use the same system as Pathfinder did (based on relative size). Maybe you keep it simple and just rule that attackers get a +1 bonus to hit Large creatures and a +2 bonus to hit Huge creatures.
But I'm not here to debate the bonus, just to point out that I don't think you are houseruling anything. StarFinder is flexible enough to address your concern.

Nah, his reach gives him an attack of opportunity against said small creatures trying to grapple him, should be more than enough.
If he's getting swarmed all the time he should invest in jump jets or a jetpack for more mobility.
