Order 5245072

Hi,

Will part of order 5245072 be shipping today? Package 1 (the flip mats) says it will ship in 1 to 7 business days, and by my count today is day 7 (I submitted the order on June 21st). I've been waiting a long time for this (I first sent e-mail to customer service on May 28th regarding a website problem that needed to be resolved before I could place the order, which finally got resolved on June 21st) and I was hoping this would ship out today (we are planning on using the mats for a game that is starting this week). I am in Seattle, so once it ships it'll get here fast (hopefully tomorrow).

Thanks!

Hello Grim Raner,

It appears that the order was not set to ship out until we had all items in stock. The Starfinder Dice Tray was the item holding the order up, as we are waiting to receive more stock on hand for that item. I have set the flip mats to ship separately from the Dice Tray so that they may go out promptly.

I have sent you a new confirmation email providing you the updated details of the order. I will make sure the Flip Mats go out promptly so they can hopefully be used in your upcoming game! Thank you for your patience. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you! I did get a new confirmation e-mail. Hopefully it will ship soon.

Looking at the order, it appears that the payment was charged, but only in part? And I'm not sure if the "first ten shipping" discount was applied to the order this time?

Customer Service Representative

Hello Grim Ranger,

If I recall correctly, I posted an authorization to the card only for the items that are being shipped out right now. We only charge for items as they ship, so the charge will be partial until the Dice Tray comes in stock. Once that product is ready to ship out, the cost of that item will be charged at that time. It is also possible that the authorization was for only one or two of the items, this is fine because the authorization just checks if the card can be accepted. Sometimes the authorization amount does not reflect the full price of the order.

Once you receive the shipping confirmation email, please let me know if the charge is still an unexpected amount.

Please let me know if I have misunderstood and you are seeing a different kind of partial charge. Thank you!

I think it looks correct, though I am unsure about the shipping. Can you tell me if the "first ten" shipping discount will be applied to the order?

Customer Service Representative

Hello Grim Ranger,

Yes, I am seeing the first 10 shipping discount applied to the order. This has taken the $10 off of your total costs. Due to the order having to ship in two packages to get the flip mats to you before the dice tray is available, your shipping costs will go up by a few dollars, but the first 10 shipping discount still applies to the order.

Hi Sam,

Sorry to keep harping on this, but it's just not adding up for me. I see the "First Ten Shipping" listed in the "Promotions" section, but when I do the math, I don't see the discount. If we look at the total:

Subtotal (4 items) $102.48
Sales Tax $11.08
Shipping & Handling $12.90
Order Total $126.46
Store Credit to Apply $37.82

... then total shipping for the entire order should be $2.90, correct?

If we look at package 1, the total cost is $87.49. Tax on that is about $8.74, for a total of $96.23. Subtract the $37.82 store credit and we get $58.41. I was charged $58.63 for this (I assume the difference is due to me not getting the tax quite right). Then I was charged $8.22, which I assume was the portion of shipping for this order (even though it shows as $8.01?). Unless that is a credit? It looks like a charge on the order page, but I could be wrong. Package 2 is $14.99 + $4.89 shipping.

I don't see where the $10 discount for shipping fits in. Can you clarify this?

Thanks!

Hello Grim Ranger,

No problem. It's good to point these things out when they happen. While the order is absolutely displaying to me that it will apply the shipping discount, it has charged you in a way which ignores this discount. Why it is doing this is an error that stemmed from telling the order to ship in two packages. The system appears confused because the total order qualifies for the shipping discount, but it can no longer find any one package that qualifies for the shipping discount. It is causing it to display the shipping discount, but it doesn't know how or where to apply it.

In order to rectify this for you, I have granted an additional $10 in store credit and applied it to the order. When the second part of the order ships, it should use this additional $10, which will ultimately charge you the same amount as if you got the $10 shipping discount.

On a side note, a totally unrelated system issue occurred when I tried to grant the store credit. It authorized your card for the store credit portion of the order. Please ignore this authorization. I have already requested it to be reversed. I just wanted to let you know so you are not alarmed. It will disappear soon. When it rains it pours I suppose.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns, and please let me know if you experience any other oddities when the second half of this order ships. It appears that we have confused the system as much as it has confused us, and while I expect the second package to apply the new store credit without a problem, it is reasonable to keep an eye on it.

Thank you!

Thanks Sam!
