Dimensional Slice Curve Blade supposed to be powered?

Rules Questions

All other Dimensional Slice weapons are Analog (The longsword, the starknife, and the doshko). Is this intentional? What do you think?

I don't see any reason to doubt it. The various series often have little in common between models. Like, the Ceremonial Troop Plate has three upgrade slots and -10 move, but the Ceremonial Officer Plate only has one upgrade slot and -5 move, while the Commander version is up to five upgrade slots and back to -10 movement. Golemforged I has a zero maximum Dex modifier but the higher levels have some of the best (my 16 Dex soldier wears Golemforged III and gets his full bonus to AC).

I think that they were more concerned with having each weapon fit a niche rather than making sure all the series had similar properties. In the specific case of the Dimensional Slice Curve Blade, that's the highest damage non-unwieldy weapon in the game; not a huge stretch to think that they looked at it and wanted to give it an ammo limitation.

The curveblade line becomes powered at item level 16 with the buzzblade. The dimensional slice curveblade is intended to be powered.

I mean, the starknife line becomes powered at 12 with the 'accelerated' starknife, remains powered at 16 with the lightspeed, and then the 'Dimensional Slice' starknife at 19 is back to Analog. The Doshko line becomes powered at 17 with the 'Molecular Rift' Doshko and then is back to Analog with the Dimensional Slice version at 19. That said, I've just noticed that the Molecular Rift longsword is analog.

I guess maybe I'm just trying to understand what these things are actually supposed to be. I get that the plasma doshko is powered for obvious reasons, I get that the buzzblade (chainsaw) stuff needs a power source. When some things are so inconsistent I'm not sure whether this is supposed to be some kind of laser sword or if it's some kind of high tech normal sword.

You can tell if something is a laser sword by the damage it does. But many weapons that are powered still do S damage, because the power is a form of electric knife or chainsaw action, ranging from actual moving edges along a spine to just vibrating the blade so it cuts more easily.

Some of the power swords in Warhammer 40,000 are basically lightsabers, a blade-shaped forcefield that flays material away from the target, essentially ripping them apart from a molecular level. Others are actual blades with the lethal forcefields emitting from them.

Would be interesting if we ever got weapons that did magic missile-style damage.
