I wish I had a $1 for every time in the last few weeks I've clicked on an unread posting link on a thread, read the messages, replied, and then on refresh it shows an unread message, which when I click on it, is my message I just wrote.
On the same topic, the last week or so, the unread links just aren't updating at all. I'll read messages, go back to my campaign tab, and see an unread message link, click on it, go right back to the same message, go back to campaign tab, refresh, see link, click on it, same message, sometimes it takes me 3-4 times to read the same message before it finally gets flagged as 'read'.

I think the problem is that the new message notification is running several minutes behind the live posts. I post but after 10 minutes the top-level forum is showing no new posts. In another 5 minutes there is one post notification, but it's mine. Another 10 minutes and there are two notifications. Check the thread and there were 10 posts in the past 25 minutes, but the top-level forum is still only showing three new messages (counting mine).
I didn't notice this happening until May 30th or 31st.
Yeah, I'm seeing the same behavior as mdt and Belafon and I also concur that it only really started getting bad within the last day or two. Not sure if the tech folks are doing some more work under the hood or what.
I don't know if this is related, but at the same time this problem cropped up, I noticed that the spinning wheel indicating a page update stays up longer but that the actual page content loads faster than before.
Edit: It looks like somebody else reported this problem here.
Hm, I suspect that we may know what's causing this. It could also be related to being bounced to an instance while the site is mid-cycle. If you continue encountering this behavior, please let us know!
It's still happening, but less than it was.
