Hello all,
I'm a longtime PF player who is only just now signing up for the Society, in order to get the most of my visit to PaizoCon. In the Society rules, I note that one may only incorporate character options from books that they bring with them to the table. This makes sense for local games, but I have a long flight to get to Seattle, so I'm wondering how necessary it will be for PaizoCon.
For example, if I want to use a rule from Horror Adventures, do I need to the hardcover with me at all times? Or would it be sufficient to use the online srd, or a PF rules app? If I need to provide proof that I've purchased a book, I can show the copy in my account's downloads.
I get the impression that this won't be a big deal, but I also don't want to fly 5,000 km only to find myself banished from the tables! Thanks.

Welcome to Society play Gonturan! I recommend reading the roleplaying guild guide. It has most of the answers you need regarding PFS.
First off you do not need the physical product at the table. The requirement is not only to prove ownership, but also that you have a copy of all rules pertaining to your character on hand in case a question comes up at the table. Proof of ownership can absolutely include your My Downloads page here on the site, and you can use a name watermarked pdf, a page printed from a PDF, or electronic access to the Paizo PRD. In regards to the electronic access and PDFs they have to be on a device you are comfortable with the GM inspecting, and you need to keep in mind that wi-fi may not be available at the table.
I would recommend screenshotting your downloads page, and having a print out from your PDF just in case the internet decides not to cooperate with you.
