In my upcoming campaign I have a player who wants to play an Oracle focusing on crafting stuff, particularly clockwork creations.
I allow all my players to take noncombat feats at levels 2, 6, 10, 14, and 18, and I use the Elephant in the Room Feat Taxes, so they have enough feats to throw around.
Our main issue is the CL requirement for crafting constructs. Normally you can add +5 to the Craft DC to ignore each requirement, but Ultimate Magic specifically calls out CL as being required. How would you go around this? I was thinking of making it +2.5 DC/level of CL that you're short, rounding down.
Therefore if the original DC was 17, for example, and the CL requirement was 12, you could be 11th level and make the DC be 19, or be 10th level and make the DC be 22, 9th level be DC 24, 8th level be DC 27, etc.
Does that sound balanced?
