Hammer Fist & Weapon Specialization

Rules Questions

can a soldier use weapon specialization with his Hammer Fist ability? the ability is very vaguely written. So far ive pieced together that their unarmed strikes in Power or Heavy armor count as a battleglove with an item lvl matching their own. They count as armed and threaten squares if my reading of various other threads is right. The question then becomes are the strikes considered a battleglove when interacting with feats.

Yes.

If the Weapons Specialization would apply to a battleglove (it certainly does in core, but I am future-proofing the statement against potential situations in the future), then it applies to the hammer fist.

Besides, for any question, it should be clear you either treat it as an unarmed attack, or as a battleglove.
A soldier gets Weapon Specialization with it either way.

Thank you for the clarification. I have a player working up this character for a upcoming campaign so I was trying to get a full understanding of how it works.
