Psion - Dual Disciple and Psychokinesis

So, the Dual Disciple archetype lets you choose a primary discipline, and a secondary discipline. The archetype specifies the levels at which you receive the second level and eighth level abilities from the secondary discipline.

However... Psychokinesis is unique in that it grants an ability simply for choosing it as a discipline (You can freely choose the damage type of any power that says you must select from cold, electricity, fire, or sonic damage).

Dual disciple makes no mention of whether or not you would gain this ability, if you chose Psychokinesis as your secondary discipline.

So if you were to say, create a Dual Disciple psion, and chose Psychometabolism as your primary discipline, and Psychokinesis as your secondary discipline... Would you be allowed to choose the damage type of the Energy * line of powers on the fly? Or would you have to make Psychokinesis your primary discipline for that?

You gain this ability at the time you gain the archetype. The first sentence of the "Secondary Discipline" is "When the dual disciple chooses his discipline, he also selects his secondary discipline".

So, in most cases, it will be at first level, unless you are retraining .
