Hi everyone
There is a player in my group that seems to think Small races need to act like children.
He has now made a second character that fits this criteria.
In role-playing conversation the character pretty much acts like a 7 year old with exactly the same amount of wisdom and filter that you would expect from a 7 years old. It is infuriating and derails things. And is more annoying because it is the second character like this
Is there anything I can do (beyond finding a way to murder the character because that is extreme)? This is just for a one off module but I am concerned that there is a pattern.
Thanks

You could allow the player to actually make a child PC. It seems the issue is the player wants a certain type of character and is "forcing" that concept into the Small races.
On the other hand, it may actually be appropriate for a low Wis gnome to act very child-like...

Thanks. I know the solution is asking him
My concern was that the critiques were made about the previous one and have seemingly been ignored. But perhaps they weren't called out about the first version clearly enough
I also called it out in the session and had NPCs start to ignore him or react very negatively. I thought that was somewhat reasonable
I think I will use the flow chart above and note that it probably doesn't bother me sufficiently in hindsight and at least this is not an Adventure Path character
