I have long wondered if it was ever worth replacing a witch familiar for the spells instead of feeding it scrolls. Today, I decided to find out.
Turns out that at 9th level, and 11th on up, it is worth it.*
If the new spell has costly material components, it can be worth it at earlier levels.
Has anyone used this in-game?

*Assuming you have a way to preserve existing spells. Say another witch with a familiar you can share with. Leadership is great!
