Legendary Spirits in PFS

Do I still need to accomplish the Gaining Favor in one of the scenarios to fulfill the prerequisite of gaining the benefit? Or I just need to pick them. swear an oath and success a check?

Unless I’m missing something, Legendary Spirits are simply not allowed in PFS (as they are not listed in Additional Resources).

They're legal. From additional resources:
Spirits: The legendary spirits on pages 10–11 are legal for play with the following clarifications: A PC can only have the ability to contact one legendary spirit at a time, a PC permanently loses the ability to contact a legendary spirit if he breaks that spirit's oath, and a PC can regain that spirit's favor with an atonement (priced as if restoring a cleric's spellcasting abilities).

I'm curious about how they're handled too. There's already so much completely unnecessary table variation around the medium class that stacking another bit of "Will the GM let me play my class?" has always felt like another argument I didn't want to have. I've kept it in mind, though, as the nuclear option for arguments over the way spirits work.

Resurrecting this thread because the OP's question doesn't appear to have been answered, and also because there is now different Additional Resources language for different legendary spirits.

Specifically, some entries have restrictive caveats that others don't. Is this intentional?

example:

Quote:

Pathfinder Occult Realms: Occult Realms * * ...

Spirits: The legendary spirits on pages 10–11 are legal for play with the following clarifications: A PC can only have the ability to contact one legendary spirit at a time, [...other restrictions...]

[Similar language in the Six Legged Soul]

vs

Quote:

Pathfinder Player Companion: Blood of the Ancients * * ...

Misc.: The bardic masterpieces, bloodlines, and legendary spirits in this book are legal for play except Song of Sarkoris.

[Similar legality, i.e. without any restrictions, appears for Heroes of Golarion]

I note that Campaign Clarifications has an entry specifically under Occult Realms, but does not contain a similar entry for any other book:

Quote:

Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Occult Realms

Page 10—A PC can only have the ability to contact one legendary spirit at a time and permanently loses the ability to contact a legendary spirit if he breaks that spirit's oath. A PC can regain that spirit's favor with an atonement spell priced as if restoring a cleric's spellcasting abilities.)

This brings me to my questions:

1) Despite the lack of language in Blood of the Ancients restricting PCs to only being able to contact one legendary spirit at a time, are they covered by the same "rule" as, say, a PC with an Occult Realms legendary spirit?

2) If no, does this mean a PC is forced to choose between either a single Occult Realms legendary spirit or any number of Blood of the Ancients legendary spirits, or can a PC have a single Occult Realms legendary spirit, and any number of Blood of the Ancients legendary spirits?
