Bladed Scarf Build

Are there any decent builds for bladed scarves (that do not require the kapenia dancer)? I was thinking about playing an elemental shifter or elemental bloodrager that's a dancer that turns into fire. However, bladed scarves do a pitiful amount of damage for a two-handed weapon, they require a feat to use, and they don't qualify for Slashing Grace.

I'm very fond of them on unchained rogues - they get full 1.5 Dex to damage, and the d6 goes very well with sneak attack.

As for "requiring a feat", the Varisian Tattoo trait is just what you need. Even if you're not a human, it's just one adoption away. ^_^

I can't help you with the "pitiful amount of damage". But at least it's two-handed, so Power Attack should help.

I never saw that trait before. That's awesome! Maybe I'll get an agile scarf or go unchained rogue after 4th level.

Don't forget that agile won't give you 1.5 Dex to damage - only unchained rogue can do that.

And, yes it is! It's one of my all-time favorite traits. ^_^

It is tempting just to go Strength and be a muscular dancer!

I’d recommend Unchained Rogue as well, but if you do go Strength, pretty much any standard 2-handed weapon build would work. Yeah, you do less damage than a greatsword. But it’s only 3.5 on average. By the time you’re into mid levels and getting huge bonuses from strength and power attack and other static bonuses, 3.5 damage isn’t going to seem like that much.

If you do go Unchained Rogue, don’t dump Strength completely. Take a 13 so you can pick up Power Attack. I have an Elven Branched Spear wielding Unchained Rogue that dishes out very good damage even when she doesn’t get sneak attack. Something like +19 to Damage at level 6. When she does get sneak, which is often thanks to gang up, she keeps up with the Bloodrager. The 13 STR meant I started with a 19 DEX instead of 20, but that isn’t the end of the world. Full disclosure, I dipped a level of Snakebite Brawler, but that was so I could take Power Attack at 1st and so I didn’t need a 13 INT for Combat Expertise. It’s not necessary for an effective build.

My bladed scarf character is a kapenia dancer, so not really helpful here.
