So i'm new to the society and haven't bumped into the issue yet but wanted to make sure I'm interpreting the situation correctly.
So if my character dies, the following things can happen:
-My fellow players can drag my corpse (providing it wasn't vaporized or otherwise unavailable) to a healer where the requisite credits can be spent for the services of a spellcaster.
-My fellow players can drag my corpse to some sort of society outpost or location that has an appropriate member of the society and I can spend 14 Fame to be raised.
-If no one is around to recover my body, I can spend 5 fame to have the society recover my body and then pay the requisite credits or fame for the Raise Dead spell.
Does that sound right? Am I missing something other than the "your character is dead" situation?

You have it mostly right so far. The only correction would be that you spend prestige, not fame. Two nuances:
- There is a weird half/half option: pay 50% of the Raise Dead costs via prestige, and 50% with gold pieces. I'm not sure where this rule is or if I even expressed it accurately.
- This is a rare situation in which PFS allows players to pitch in. If they want to help cover your Raise Dead costs, they can. However, they cannot be forced to, and nobody should even feel guilted into it.
There is a major restriction. While you can always be raised at the end of a module (and in fact MUST be if you wish to explore that option), mid-game options are different. Mid-game, you can only get raised if you are in/near a town of 5000+ people. Some adventures will put you out away from the world, and in those cases you might die, have no viable way to be quickly raised, and sit the rest of the adventure out.

Outshyn, this is for Starfinder Society, not Pathfinder Society.
As far as I can recall (I don't have the guide in front of me), the OP is correct. Since these are general tier rewards, you add your reputation across all the factions to determine if you can afford a raise if using fame (and by the time you have that much fame, you should easily have the reputation).
