I seem to have confused people with the layout of the village to date. I've tried to reconcile it with a map.
And now, a pep-talk from your GM: You all need to work together to solve this problem. There's information in spoilers that other people don't know that could be useful, but the people who have the information aren't sharing. Nope, I'm not telling you what information and who has it.
Additionally, you all need to try to influence these aliens as per a 'first contact' scenario. You need some information; they have the information. They are difficult to communicate with and have alien ways. There's a certain number of successes that you need to get before you get a certain number of failures. And no again, I'm not telling you what checks count and which ones don't, but you're guaranteed to fail to get the info if you don't try.
Of course, you can also ignore these aliens and move along if you so choose, but where's the fun in that?

Any chance I can use my racial limited telepathy to communicate some basic things like Verne did before? Technically, I'm only able to use it with creatures with whom I share a language.

Correct. And you wouldn't know until you tried.

Darmok and Jalad at Tenagra!

Mallura and Drusnok at Nakon
We were getting close to eliminating all Drusnok everywhere
It had crossed my mind after I had posted earlier that I didn't mention they were speaking telepathically to JD, but got busy and never went back to edit.

Jarix is going around with his datapad up in the air recording all that he can.
I love the mental image of Jarix walking around with the datapad like this.

It might be worth trying a treat disease check under the medicine skills, but you may be right, we might find out more about the disease when we find the exile.

Use promo code "Abadar" for 15% off your new website at square space. Now, back to the campaign.
I listen to to many podcasts, that's all I hear when I read "the square space"

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle as well, Dax. We'll be here. Peace to you and yours.

Only a single Acrobatics check is needed, Jarix. Your first one counts. Could both Jarix and JD tell me what their intended movement speed will be as they cross? I see your positions on the map. A single move of 30 feet would put you halfway across the bridge. I think JD has moved too far and Jarix hasn't moved enough. I've corrected your positions to what I think you've done - JD has completed a single move; Jarix has dashed across the bridge with two move actions.

Mayhem looks confused because his character sheet tells me that he only has one shock grenade, which he threw last round, and a shout rifle that deals non-lethal sonic damage. Robots are immune to non-lethal damage.
I probably over-called it by allowing him to shatter the security camera in the other room, but I thought it was a fun roleplaying moment.

I've started a Tracking Sheet for Loot and other things.
I've pre-populated it with what you've found so far. I'll leave this with someone else to continue tracking....do we have any volunteers?

I added the newest loot to the spreadsheet instead of working, because this is more fun that what I am supposed to be doing.
Just a suggestion for the unclaimed loot, if there's multiple people who are interested we could have a roll off. Roll for an item with a single d20 and the highest roll takes it.
For example, JD kinda wants the Estex suit and the Sonic rifle.
Sonic Rifle: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Estex 2 suit: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Anyway, just a suggestion to make things fair.
edit: oh wow, now I feel bad for rolling.

Oh no! I didn't check the discussion thread, JD! I like the roll-off idea, so here goes my roll for the armor...
Estex suit + captain's bonus: 1d20 + 1000 ⇒ (1) + 1000 = 1001
Well, looks like I won after all! Haha! JK, of course we'll go by the base roll. The suit is yours!
EDIT: Well dang. Looks like the dice-bot didn't appreciate that little joke...

It's there: if you go to the 'Equipment' tab, it lists everything that you've got. The 'Hero' column indicates who is carrying what.
Mallura Barbinis
@JD - Either way, my actual roll (minus the fake bonus) was a Nat 1, so you go ahead and take it. We'll get more gear sooner or later. Maybe AbadarCorp will send out a friendly Shop Drone or something. Haha!
Jeryn D'han Power
I will wait and see if anyone else wants it.
As far as environmental protection, does second skin offer any kind of breather? Or can JD borrow Lih's extra hidden soldier armour helmet, and not take any armour bonus. Just for story, and to kinda look like Boba Fett.
GM Dinketry
|
According to the Core Rulebook, all armour can protect against inhaled poisons by allowing for rebreathing to occur - even second skin. I’m simply a jerk GM who rolled for your Fort saves secretly through the combats (i.e. a few extra unlabelled d20 rolls here are there) assuming that you wouldn’t say anything like “we are sleeping in our armour”.
Jarix
Geez! Not this again. It's that sort of 'trickery' that makes a player want to do declare that they are always sleeping in their armor. Why not assume that we've tested the environment to determine if it's safe or not to turn off the environmental protections and take off our armor? I also DM and I get the allure of 'sticking it to characters', but this is literally a matter of life and death to a PC. Isn't it reasonable to assume that we would check before just turning off our enviro-seals?
One of my pet peeves from 30+ years of gaming.
GM Dinketry

I cannot assume what you do as characters. I can only see what you say you do and what you specifically don't do.
You had tested the environment. You hadn't tested for the disease that The Exile had. An inhaled disease is different, I think, then whether the air is decent to breathe. To peel back a bit of the mystery: The Exile specifically had a form of the light-pop disease that could be transmitted to non-drusnock. Additionally, from a plot standpoint, it makes your return to the drusnock village a bit more meaningful.
Regardless, it's a matter of fortitude rolls and medicine checks. Additionally, diseases/afflictions/poisons in Starfinder work way differently than in other games you may have played.
I'm sorry that you've had lousy experiences in your roleplaying games, Jarix. I like creating a meaningful and weighty narrative in my games and with my characters. I truly believe that a bit of weight on the instability of mortality is vital to highlight the dangers - and in this case, alien and unknown dangers - that y'all are facing. It's part of your story.
But in the end, you contracted an illness. You will likely survive it. You've got skilled medical teammates and an advanced medkit on your side. You may have other things as well that are as of yet to be identified. We will see.

Jarix and Verne, last call for estex 2 armour or shock rifle.
I'll call it now, here are my official rolls for the gear, if this is a system we wanna use.
Estex2: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Shock Rifle: 1d20 ⇒ 19
On the glass cannon podcast, a good argument why your character should have it could be worth a +2, which I most certainly do NOT have!
GM Dinketry

JD, I think you mean the sonic thunderstrike rifle. Mayhem has already claimed the shock rifle by licking it.
Jeryn D'han Power
Mayhem had the one that verne located in the equipment room, a static shock caster rifle. Which he assured us was the prettiest weapon he'd ever seen. We found one on the exiles body which is the thunderstruck.
Verne Sevenstorm

Got it.
Jarix and Verne, last call for estex 2 armour or shock rifle.
I wouldn't mind both, but if I had to grab one, I'd probably take the rifle since it makes sense for my character to take up the rear.
Estex 2: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Rifle: 1d20 ⇒ 16

It would appear that the Estex II suit is JD's. Of course, he may award it if he so chooses.
@LihSoloroh
Would we know if the spell gems are single use or have multiple charges?
If they are single use, or have limited uses, would it be better to allow them their saves with Lih's medicine check bonuses before we burn them?
