I have an upcoming confrontation between my low-level Party and a mid-level witch. If she has warded key locations in her hut with Symbol spells (e.g., Pain or Sleep) is she affected? From my reading of the spell she would be (which makes them useless in this case), or, as the caster, is she immune?
Just trying to even up the combat a little. Physically, she's pretty vulnerable, so I was hoping she could use some magic traps to even the odds a little.

Any creature attuned to a symbol of death cannot trigger it and is immune to its effects, even if within its radius when it is triggered. You are automatically considered attuned to your own symbols of death, and thus always ignore the effects and cannot inadvertently trigger them.
