Seriously, how do you play him well without becoming the most hated person at the table? Or am I missing something? Haha
Also could I just confirm Nyctessa's role card ability to reset her hand from her discard pile allows her to choose the cards she wants due to the fact the pile is face up rather down like the deck would be. (?)
Many thanks peeps

Important thing about Urgraz is that he is also a character at his location, so he can use those powers on himself too. The increased damage power also synergizes best with good armor and people who don't care that much about discarding cards (like Nyctessa). For instance, if Urgraz has a Clawhand Shield he can upgrade 1 Acid, Combat, or Fire damage to himself without any harmful effect, just to get card draws.
That is correct on Nyctessa. It's good to (un)live dangerously.

So does this mean that his extra damage ability can be triggered outside of a time when a player wouldn't have been dealt damage in the first place? For example after a combat check that was won?

Nope. This is similar to:
You may not activate a power or play a card that doesn’t apply to your current situation. For example, you may not play a card to reduce damage when damage is not being dealt...
To increase damage, you have to first be dealt damage.
But: being dealt damage isn't the same as suffering the damage. "Dealt" is something done to you; whether or not you discard cards doesn't matter.
For example, if you are dealt 1 Fire damage, and you reveal an armor to reduce it to 0, you were still dealt damage. Urgraz could increase the damage to 2 to trigger his power. If all of that damage is reduced to 0, fine. His power is still triggered.
