99.9 sure the answer is yes. We've seen a Chronicle sheet open up a new race in Core... I can't imagine this would be any different. ^_^

Yes, it would open it up in core, this is the point of having useful loot on chronicles for core games.

Even without the ability to retrain on the chronicle sheet exotic weapon proficiency is a core feat you could take for the axem provided it is on the chronicle.

From what I recall of Core rules (though it's been a while and I really want to play more Core,) if it is on the chronicle sheet you now have access to it for that character regardless of whether the item is in the CRB, but you still need a source for the item. So yes, a Core character could get the axe, the bow, the funky exotic familiar, or any number of other wierd things if the right scenarios are played.

I'm afraid I don't think you can get it in large flavour nosig, sorry.

The guide says;

a Small PC the opportunity to purchase a +1 frost
longsword, she can buy a Small +1 frost longsword.

The only time purchasing large items is mentioned is under Always Available;

All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from Chapter

6 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook, including items
for Small and Large characters.
