Med Kits

I guys one of my players purchased a Med Kit at character creation. The description says that it allows you to determine DC of Medicine Checks for treating deadly wounds and to check the Medicine skill on page 143 for more info. (Page 220) Once you go to the indicated page it explains again what was said above but gives no further info as to what benefit or DC the Med Kit bestows. Help please!

"The advanced medkit can be used in the same way as a basic medkit, but the DC to treat deadly wounds is only 20, and you gain a +2 insight bonus to Medicine checks to treat drugs, diseases, and poisons."

"The basic medkit allows you to attempt DC 25 Medicine checks to treat deadly wounds."
