Hello everyone! I have a question about something I am doing for my game.
While I just started this with my group, I have read through the first volume and gotten into the second to get myself ahead and make sure I am ready for anything my players can throw at me. I got to thinking that I wanted to do something fun with my game, and that was recording myself and using that as the audio gems my players will find later on in Part 1.
My big question is, if the title didn't give it away, was what would Azlani sound like? I was thinking of just translating the English words into Latin, doing my best to speak said Latin, and run with that, but I wanted to ask you guys what old languages would be more appropriate for an Azlanti other then Latin?

I know that Iblydos is the Greece-influenced culture on Golarion, but since the Azlanti are inspired by Atlantis, which in turn was described by the Greek philosopher Plato, I always imagined Azlanti sounding like Ancient Greek.
And just as the Romans came after the ancient Greek and picked up a lot of their culture and traditions, the Thassilonians came after Azlanti (or at least after their zenith) and were heavily influenced by them. So in my mind, Thassilonian sounds more like the Latin of Ancient Rome (which sounded a lot like Italian).

I would go with Minoan, seeing as the 1627 BCE Santorini eruption is probably the basis for the Atlantis legend. However, no one living today knows what Minoan sounds like, which is an important detail.
So, I would go with Jacobs Greek/Japanese thing, maybe Greek with Japanese sentence structure if I'm feeling really ambitous, but I'd throw in "os" at the end of place names as in "Knossos" and "Phaistos" use some lesser known names from mythology like "Asterion" and "Rhadamantys" and "Phaedra" if you need a random "Azlanti" name.
And yes, this is me nerding out.
