Variants of the Crafting skill

Homebrew and House Rules

Hi tall folks.

Well, first, an introduction.

"I'm Albert, the crafter of my goblin's tribe, and i need to make a bow for the boss

I'm sooooo clever, so i actually have a +10 due to some feats and stuff to my crafting hability.

Well, a longbow cost is 75 gp. So, i have to pay one third of the materials and hands to work!

75 gold pieces are 750 silver coins. Well, lets make the check with a +10 since im awsome, lets go for dificulty 22

I got a 12!! so with my hability that hits 22 (ONE WEEK OF WORK)

lets see 22X22=484

Well...it seems that i will have to work another week in my precious bow. Oh, wait, its not that precious, its a normal bow..."

-"ALBERT, WE ALREADY WENT INTO THREE DUNGEONS AND LOOT LIKE DRUNKEN MONKEYS, WHAT HAVE U BEEN DOING?"-

-"Oh please, shut up, Damon"-

Wel...any ideas to change this skill and make it a little bit more usefull?

If you think its good as it is now, please explain to me how to build a crafter!

thanks in advance
