Book of the Damned fiendish boons

Rules Questions

Since the book isn't readily clear about it, can the boons listed in the new Book of the Damned be gotten with the deific obedience prestige classes like Evangelist, Sentinel, and Exalted, and can you take Deific Obedience to get those boons instead of Fiendish Obedience?

I don't think so:

Deific Obedience wrote:
...must worship a deity...
...And Worshipping Demon lords wrote:
Although demon lords are in most cases not true deities

Demon lords (except for lamashtu, which has both deific AND fiendish boons) aren't deities.

Silver Crusade

They are in fact Deities (Demi-Gods to be exact) since they grant spells and offer Domains. I think there's a sidebar saying you can use the Fiendish Obedience with those prestige classes but I'll double check.

Edit: yep, sidebar on p. 9 talks about how to use the Fiendish Boons with the Inner Sea Gods prestige classes.

Oh cool! so can you RAW take evangelist/sentinel/exalted with demonic/celstial obedience?

Silver Crusade

Yep.

But the Book of the damned also says that the prerequisites should match a level 7 character, not level 5...

Silver Crusade

Yep, there are higher requirements to accommodate the increased power of the Fiendish Boons, but you can in fact use them with the Prestige Classes.

Just a warning - the book also stresses that the fiendish boons in this book are more powerful than their benign counterparts, and DM's should take certain considerations concerning PC's taking them. I would ask your DM before you put any boons to paper.
