They chose their moniker of "Voidcloak" from their penchant for conducting minor ship repairs "wearing nothing but the void" according to their mother. They were young, but the name stuck.
Wanting to know A) if the choices I've made support the concept, B) whether to go with longarms, advanced melee, or go fully defensive/support by taking skill focus or a mobility feat, and C) how to spend the moolah. I'd like for them to have a spindle Aeon stone for thematic reasons, and a backup of the Dancer's artificial personality and telemetry, but beyond that I'm suffering from choice paralysis and I'm not even a shirren.
Advice?

I would recommend long arms. That gets good benefit from the ysoki stats. In generally they are not going to have great strength and probably are pretty agile. If you were going soldier I could see buffing strength enough to make melee worthwhile but as a mystic I am not sure that's a great idea.
kinda leaving your str as is working up dex for your non magic offense gives you some points to add to other useful stats.
Given how much better damage with long armors or advanced weapons get over small/basic ones it is really hard to advise not picking up one or the other and the stats to use them. I think going forward they may have to rethink the small weapons not getting full spec benefit.
Moolah spending is generally pretty easy for the basic stuff you are going to want some armor and at level 1 that is probably going to be second skin unless you pick up heavy armor prof and stats to use it. Weapon basically figure out what weapon proficiencies you have or want to pick up feat wise. There are generally a few choices for each for level 1-2 see how much you want to spend on one. Generally after getting a good weapon and some armor that will probably take up about 2/3 of your spending cash or so depending on your choices. Basic aeon stone was not that expensive but after that its pretty much some food/hygine kit maybe a couple consumables. The 1000 credits goes pretty fast after you pick a weapon/armor. Cheap out on those and you can stretch it further but those are still probably going to eat about half your starting cash minimum.

I'd strongly advise more Dex. Maybe only to the tune of 14 or 15, but it makes a big difference in Pilot and in combat. Personally, I'd go Dex 16, Int 12, Str 9...but that's just personal preference.
Longarm Proficiency (and later Specialization) will also help you out in combat quite a bit doubling your damage eventually. I highly recommend it.
