Hi guys,
I'm looking at my subscription order, and it seems like I'm being overcharged. The cost and shipping for the subscription items and side cart items comes to $142.65, but the listed cost is $182.80. Furthermore, I seem to have charges adding up to ~$198.
I see the following charges:
- $15.24 PENDING (map pack storage box side cart order 4477578)
- $114.06 COMPLETED (showing as $68.74 on the Paizo site, and I was actually charged €57.67, so I don't understand the amount I'm seeing)
- $38.80 COMPLETED
- $17.21 COMPLETED
- $58.08 PENDING
I understand that the $15.24 for the map pack storage boxes will probably lapse, causing the cost to come down to the listed $182.80, but I'm still unsure as to why the final cost is $40 higher than the total item costs and shipping.
I'm hoping you can shed some light on this.
Kind regards,
Evan.

Hello EJDean,
Thank you for letting us know. There system was calculating your shipping terribly wrong. I have let the tech team know so they can see what went wrong. I have fixed everything but and I want to go over all of it and how it is going to look with you. All together your were being overcharged by $47.62. The grand total should be, $96.45 for the line items + $46.20 for shipping = $142.65.
The system originally indicated that your order would ship in 2 packages. It is ultimately shipping in 3 (but the total shipping now that it is fixed is the same as you were quoted for 2 packages), but should have shipped in 2.
The $114.06 you are seeing is the original authorization for one of the 2 packages. When that order shipped it had less than originally expected due to the system breaking the order into 3 packages instead of 2. So that authorization finalized for $68.74. You were charged $68.74
When the second package was authorized when the order was generated it was for $38.82. When it shipped it had more in it than it originally did, again due to the way the system reorganized the order. So that finalized for $38.82 and a second charge for the extra items in the package was done for the difference. This is the $17.21.
This all means that as of right now you have been charged a grand total of $68.74 + $38.82 + $17.21 = $124.77. But one of the boxes and the hardcover book have not shipped yet. But the total for what has been shipped should have instead been $55.67 for line items + $21.47 shipping = $77.14. This is where the shipping miscalculation is. You were charged $47.63 too much.
The $58.08 was an authorization for the remaining 2 items that weren't in either of those 2 packages. It will not finalize. I have issued an authorization reversal request that should help it disappear sooner. The $15.24 was the original authorization for the boxes on the order they were originally on. It will also disappear and I have issued a reversal to hopefully speed that up.
In order to fix this I had to move the 2 items that haven't shipped out to a new order because they weren't going to ship as the system is still confused about the number of packages. Once I did this I was able to fix the amount already charged to reflect the correct amount and show that we owed you $47.63. The order the new items were moved to reflects the correct total for those items, $40.78 for line items + $24.28 for shipping = $65.06 grand total. This brings the entire order to a total of $77.14 for the first order + $65.06 for the second order = $142.20. A little less than on the original quote.
So I have issued a refund for the overcharge of $47.63 to your store credit and am applying it to the second order I moved the other 2 items to. You will be receiving an email confirmation for that order that reflects this. I am also sending you a new email confirmation for the fixed first order to reflect the refund and show you the corrected numbers (the which items are in which packages part may still look a little wonky though).
So, the $58 and $15 charges will disappear. The other charges totaling $124.77 will remain and you will see one more appear for $17.43 show up when the last 2 items ship out.

Hello EJDean,
Yes it is. All the boxes were originally going in the 2 packages. When it reorganized things one was instead was going to go in the third package. When I fixed things it rearranged things back to the original 2 package sorting which means it thought that box was already fulfilled and wasn't going to ship it (this is why I needed to move the items to a new order to get them to ship).

Hi Diego,
I get it now. Thanks for clarifying that!
One more thing seems to have come up: I just received a payment failure notification email from Paizo for the final charge you told me to expect, but looking at my payment card's app, no charge attempt seems to have been made. I've retried it, but I haven't seen a charge attempt on the card app yet.
Can you let me know what's going on with this? There seems to be a lot of trouble getting this month's subscription sent, and the Book of the Damned is the book that I was most looking forward to checking out, but I'm still waiting for the PDF, because the physical copy won't ship. Feeling a bit frustrated here.
Kind regards,
Evan.

Hello Evan,
The warehouse had just let me know they got a payment failure as well. I took another look at the order and I don't see any issues with it. The payment failure reason the card processor provided was that there was no existing authorization. So it sounds like it hadn't even tried, which is likely why you didn't see an attempt. I asked the warehouse to try again to see if we got the same thing, but it successfully went through. You should have just received the shipping confirmation email, and the PDF should now be available on your My Downloads page.
Yesterday I asked the tech team to take a look at the order so they can figure out how and why everything that went wrong went wrong. So hopefully we can make sure this doesn't happen again.
