Need Assistance Creating Player Aids

Advice

My group is about to start a long multi-session dwelve into the under dark, so I have decided to implement some resource record keeping to increase the immersion. I think it will add a nice "survival" aspect to the chapter of the campaign.

I am looking to make the players track things like ammo, food, water, and other key items. So in order to do this, I want to print out some player aid cards to add a visual element to keeping track of their dwindling resources.

Im not having much luck tracking down suitable artwork though. Its very hard to impossible to track down artwork of travelling rations that "fantasy" adventures would carry. I want to use artwork, over say real world pictures, which has made things harder.

I'm looking for a variety of artwork of different dried meats (beef, salted pork, or fish), fruits, and etc. So does anyone have some ideas on where I could find such artwork?

Also pictures of various edibles an adventurer might find in a fantasy under dark setting (such as mushrooms, lizards/animals, or other fauna) would also be really helpful.

inventory sprites from minecraft.

alternatively, simply create your own pixel art.

Maybe look for still life paintings of the kind of foods you're looking for, and cut them down to icon size in Photoshop/equivalent program? Might not work for everything, but it could definitely get you some fruit, cheeses, and bottles of alcohol.

What about buying decks of playing cards?

for food: Spam Deck or Bacon Recipes Deck

for drink: Tropical Drink Recipes Deck!

Then you can do something unique for Ammunition... Get a labeled bag for each ranged character and fil them with arrow heads LIKE THESE, and then have them give you an arrow head for every arrow (or bullet) they fire. You collect them and redistribute them when they craft more or buy more.

Dark Archive

During the Gamecube era (I know, ages ago), there was a game that was called Baten Kaitos. The mechanics of that game required the use of cards (they called them Magnus, because EXOTIC NAMING!). Next to magic, they had a lot of mundane stuff as well, like food and clothing.

This is the only site (click here) that I could find that actually has pictures for the various cards. Be warned though, the pictures are quite small.

In order to find something like an egg, click on "Magnus that contain Food" (third one, second line), click egg (fourth one, first line), find this with picture.

The only thing I did not find amongst these links, were stuff like ammunition (that game did not do projectile weapons, only swords). But there is food, water, plants, money, clothing and armor.
