Use Shuttle Bays for more Expansion Bays

A shuttle bay takes up 2 expansion bays, but the shuttle (as a small craft) has 3 expansion bays. There is a trade off of power and build points, but it might be worth it if you want more space.

Still can't get enough space for a proper number of escape pods on a gargantuan ship, but it gets closer.

That's hilarious and brilliant.

The PWSS Matryoshka can have infinite expansion bays, each shuttle has a shuttle bay holding another shuttle, and each shuttle has one free bay for something else.

The infinite exploit doesn't work. Shuttles need to be Small at their largest and you can only put bays in Huge or larger ships.

Still an interesting option, though.
