As I interpret this ability to treat unarmed strikes in heavy or powered armor as battlegloves of appropriate level. RAW this seems to level a significant gap from Lvl 1 to Lvl 10.
I've heard of people planning to skip around to the nearest level glove weapon but RAW is "Battle glove".
I play almost exclusively SFS so RAW is king. Any thoughts?

You treat any unarmed attack made while wearing heavy or powered armor as though wearing battlegloves of equal or lesser item level to your soldier level.
You calc damage as if you had the Melee Striker gear boost ability (1/2 Str bonus to damage, untyped) or a flat +2 bonus to damage if you already possess that gear boost ability. The unarmed strikes from this don't benefit from any other ability that specifically applies to unarmed strikes.
So, yes, from levels 1-10 you can only use battleglove, cestus as your equivalent.

By RAW there is no item that is just "Battle Glove" it is always, "Battle Glove + descritptor" so you start with Battle Glove, Cestus and then upgrade to the powered variants. no idea yet if you actually have to all of a sudden plug a battery into your wrist to keep making attacks though.

This is actually pretty simple if you read the description of the ability. "You treat any unarmed attack you make while wearing
heavy or powered armor as being made with a battleglove(see page 187) with an item level equal to or lower than your
soldier level,"
Page 187 "Battleglove (Cestus, Gravity, Nova, Power):
Battlegloves are popular, economical choices for mercenaries and
guards. These durable nylon-web or para-aramid gloves hold a
weighted plate over the wearer’s knuckles. You can hold other
objects or weapons in a hand wearing a glove, but you can’t use
the glove to make attacks while doing so."
As you can see battleglove is a weapon category or type. Clearly as written it expressly means Battleglove-Cestus, Battleglove-Gravity, Battleglove-Nova, Battleglove-Power. It it quite obvious that they did not need to retype and entire entry in the class section since they already have it referenced via the page number.

Yep. It's really explicit. At first level it does 1d4 B like a cestus battleglove, at 10th level it becomes 2d8 B like a power battleglove.
There really isn't anything else in play here- the armor storm ability grants what is probably the slowest path in terms of weapon upgrades. Enjoy (and also buy a real weapon off the advanced chart)
