Is such a thing possible/viable? I want to give it a shot. Especially since there are no space monks.

Yes, just form you solar weapon into a fist. Says you can make it whatever form you want.

Your solar weapon does more damage then unarmed strike. Who wouldn't want flaming fists of death? Get quick draw to instantly imbue your fists with the solar weapon. It says you can one have one at a time but for story telling elements I'm sure your DM wouldn't mind letting you have them on both fists. I wouldn't.

It's really pretty simple. Just pick solar weapon and flavor the weapon as a battle glove. The visuals would be like Iron Fist or ShoNuff.

Yep. This works fine. It's a listed weapon, after all.
