Say I, an 8th level Druid, wild shape into a mastodon. My party member john knows I like this form a lot, so he equips me with tusk blades:
1)What happens after I polymorph back to human? Do the tusks disappear, drop on the ground or size down to my size?
2) Assuming they disappear, what happens if I wild shape again to a mastodon? Do they reappear? Where are they stored?

Relevant rule:
When you cast a polymorph spell that changes you into a creature of the animal, dragon, elemental, magical beast, plant, or vermin type, all of your gear melds into your body.
Changing back to your natural form is not changing you into one of those things, so your gear would not meld with your body.
Tusk blades would presumably just drop to the floor.
Not sure what would happen if you polymorphed into a cat and then put on a cat-sized suit of armor and it wore off...

That's true, it's weird the other way around too (polymorphing to something smaller than you). Presumably it would also drop to the floor.
Oh, and another point: what if you were an elemental and THEN wild shaped to a mastodon, put on tusk blades, then back to elemental(melds?) THEN back to mastodon(reappears the same place?)
Polymorph is weird, man.
