I have a PC in my group who plays a Human Solarian Icon, in the Core Rules we have noticed that how solarians are trained, chosen, and so on.
Bits and pieces of the Rules have she'd a little light, for instance, apparently most Solarians eventually start worshipping the devourer after becoming obsessed with the destructive nature of their power.
He and I have come to the consensus that they are like Jedi/Sith in the prequel star wars except flip flopped, as in more evil Solarians than good.
Thoughts or suggestions? Anything we might have overlooked?

I think you can go with any of that. Me personally I hate midichlorians. I thought it ruined Star Wars and basically made it a "master race you can't join club". The original made it seem like you could study and work hard to become a jedi. Prequels ruined it.
But I even had an idea that gamma rays could give you Solarian powers. The story elements could be really fun to being that you don't really know what could happen when using your powers.
I mean that is really how Paizo built them. Think about it... You are rewarded for having high charisma and physical strength only. Where does the Wise Solarian come into play when none of you abilities use Wisdom? You are better being the Han Solo warrior then the Obi-Wan type.

Even the originals were all "the Force is strong with you" and strongly hinted at the genetic connection with Luke, vader and Leia all being Force sensitive.
Even without the annoying scientific facade of midiclorians, it was pretty clear to me that it wasn't a matter of hard work, but an either you had it or you didn't kind of a thing.

Reading over the little backstory for it, it seems like they're born with the power though they don't start manifesting it until later on - and then they either seek training at a Temple or just go about being self-taught. As far as worshiping the Devourer... while I haven't read the entire book, I'm quite curious where you saw this at?
I'm not discounting you, in fact I could see how it could happen. I imagine, if they were tied to deities so strongly, most would start tied to Ibra then diverge to follow either Sarenrae (Photon) or the Devourer (Graviton).
