Adventurer's Guide Affiliation Question

Is the Affiliation system used in Society Play? If so, do the pc's need to spend an affiliation slot on the Pathfinder society?

The affiliation system isn't used in Organized Play. It's all open.

I haven't read the affiliation section, but see the Glossary of the Guide:

Entry for Affinity.

Basically if a feat or trait or some other thing requires affinity or membership with a region or group of people, then you can choose that during downtime, but you can only have one at a time.

The Additional Resources says no Affiliation necessary for Adventurer's Guide.
