What to expect from this adventure?

I'm considering picking this adventure up to play it with my friends, but some of them are uncertain because it's not immediately clear what the focus of this adventure is.
Should someone delving into this AP expect large-scale exploration/kingdom building sort of stuff a-la Kingmaker but in an unknown frontier or rather something along the lines of underwater dungeon delving?

The latter.

It starts with investigating the disappearance of the colony and while it may grow as you advance I don't think the characters will have much input into it. Mostly they'll be off exploring underwater dungeons and going after the villian of the AP.

I'm where Noodlemancer is. My group is a fan of ships and adventures on the top of the water - any sense of how much of the campaign will be shipboard or ship-based?

In the first book, very little, if any. My guess based on descriptions of the other books is the same.
