I am interested in the Pathfinder Pawns: Bestiary Box. However, I have never seen it say anything accept Backorder. This leads me to believe that it is never available. I don't want to backorder something that is never going to be available. Worse I don't want to back order something and then have it hit my credit card randomly in seven to 18 months at a time when I cannot afford for it to so do. I would work these into my budget, if I could tell when they would affect my budget.
What I am saying is that the word "Backorder" is insufficient, and is preventing me from being a customer. I would like something better than a maybe before your dead something will happen. And I mean that sincerely, as that is exactly how I view this kind of vagueness.

We don't provide restock dates for for backordered products because the vast majority of backordered products on our website are products from other publishers, and most of the time, we don't have any insight into their delivery schedules.
Even when the backordered product is one of our own, as in this case, we usually don't know what month we'll get it until about 3 months before it arrives, and we don't know when in the month we'll get it until even closer to the restock date. We currently estimate that the Bestiary Box reprint will arrive in October.
I understand your desire for predictability on your credit card charge. One workaround would be to purchase yourself a gift certificate for the amount of the order, which will be charged to your card immediately, and then use the gift cert for the order.

It would be useful (in the upcoming/ongoing website revamp) if one could select "notify me when this item comes back in stock". I've seen and used that feature on other websites (though I'm not sure how easy it is to implement, of course).
I don't have the OP's problem with paizo stuff as I generally get things as they come out, but I have definitely "made a mental note" to pick up a product from another publisher and then forgotten about it whilst it became available and then sold out again.
