A few semi-hypothetical questions, based on a character concept one of my players is toying with for our upcoming campaign:

Given the way Androids are described, it seems impossible not to notice.
But given the scope (and mystery) of the setting, some other type of artificial something seems quite possible, whether it uses the rules for androids, humans or something else.
Someone, somewhere making Blade Runner type replicants and pulling the same kind of shenanigans seems completely viable.

When the android sleeps, the other part of their brain takes over and takes all needed actions to ensure that the android keeps on believing they are human when they wake up
What motivates this other part, what its nature is, what its capabilities are, are things best left to the GM's endless imagination
