Daring General (Cavalier Archetype)

Rules Questions

I have a Sohei Monk that has, through a strange series of events, become the ruler of a fledgling kingdom (using Ultimate Campaign, our group is nation building). I am thinking about multiclassing into the Daring General Cavalier since it would fit both the mounted combat and ruling aspects of the character.

If I already have the Leadership feat, and then multiclass into the Daring General archetype, when I reach 6th level and get the Aides-de-Camp ability what happens? Do I lose the cohort I already have? Do I keep that cohort but follow the rules for new cohorts granted by the ability?

Thanks in advance for any help/opinions.

Generally, feats aren't meant to be redundant unless they say so. Since UCamp is in play, the rules for retraining would enable you as a player to swap out a redundant and useless feat.

As a DM, I'd offer a free retraining once you had both feats, but your DM may not be as benevolent.

I have read this as "derailing general"
I want to be that!
