I know this has been asked in roundabout ways before, but to be precise:
Is a 'healing spell' determined by a spell characteristic, or by it's effect?
IE: If I cast Inflict Light Wounds on an Undead, have I just cast a healing spell?
Specifically, from the Life Oracle's Spirit Boost:
Quote:
Whenever your healing spells heal a target up to its maximum hit points, any excess points persist for 1 round per level as temporary hit points (up to a maximum number of temporary hit points equal to your oracle level).
Can I Inflict wounds on an undead to trigger Spirit Boost?

While there is a subschool of spells called "healing", I see nothing indicating the word used refers to a subschool. Usually, things that are special for a given subschool, will call it out.
Given how little a few hp for a few rounds will affect things, I don't see any problem allowing it.
