[RotR Character Add-On] When using his first power, does Sajan add his dexterity bonus to his combat check?

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Hello everyone,

I had a quick question about Rise of the Runelords Sajan's first power, which states "For you combat check, you may roll your Dexterity die (☐ and you may add the Magic trait) (☐ and/or the Fire trait); you may not play a weapon on the check."

Between errata changes and the switch from "roll" to "skill" in later sets, I wanted to make sure I understood the ability correctly. When you use this power, can you add your dexterity skill feat bonuses to your roll? For instance, if I have checked off two dexterity skills, do I roll 1d10+2 or just 1d10 for combat?

If that power were written in today's parlance, it would be "For your combat check, use your Dexterity skill (☐ and you may add the Magic trait) (☐ and/or the Fire trait); you may not play a weapon on the check."

In other words, yes, you add any Dexterity skill feats you have.

Because Sajan is the best character ever, there is actually an image of his card with updated wording in Paizo blog.

Awesome, thanks, both of you! Sajan will be all the more fun for future sessions.
