What year did Starfinder take place in?

Dark Archive

So when checking through Artifacts & Legends book, I found out that there is time travel artifact named Scepter of Ages(I'm shocked since I had figured out its straight up impossible in this setting O_o). The artifact's articles estimates on future periods goes thusly:

Near future 4,712 ar to 9,999 ar Modern day with political changes
Distant future 10,000 ar to 99,999 ar New cultures, new technologies
Far future 100,000 ar to 999,999 ar Totally alien cultures and science

I'm curious how accurate those predictions ended up being when someone wrote that artifact's article : D So yeah, what Absalom Reckoning year did Starfinder take place in?

I am sure that Starfinder is using a non-AR system of years whose starting point is an unknown AR date during the Gap. But given what is said in the source you referenced, it is probably in the "distant future" era.

What fascinates me about the table presented with the artifact is that it takes over 5000 years for Golarion to get past middle ages level technology, not counting the previous millennia of feudalism.

The existence of magic, both arcane/psychic in the hands of (relatively) few gifted individuals and divine in the hands of priests with divine-driven agendas (e.g., tyranny, contracts, freedom, death, destruction), probably disrupts the "standard" patterns of social evolution/development. Plus the existence of other races with "in-built" social castes, etc., such as insect-based races.
