leadership help need want to get a wyvern / dragon mount

hello everyone i recently hit lvl 11 and am taking leadership, i am going with the dragoon archtype and would like to get a dragon or a wyvern fro my mount. the feat is a little confusing for getting special mounts as cohorts so i was wondering on what the ruling to getting one.
my leadership score is 17 at the moment. so i would like to know what the cohort lvl of a wyvern would be or if it follows the dragon rule of cr plus 8. of course if there is a better flying mount go ahead and tell me as im open to other ideas.

Wyverns are ECL 10, so yours would get two class levels (fighter, presumably) right off the bat.

Getting a monstrous cohort is mostly a matter of getting GM permission, then working with them to figure out the in-world details of how it came to be your cohort. Remember that it should come with a hoard of appropriate size for an NPC of that level that you can spend on equipment for it (or it should be already equipped somehow, whatever).
