The warpriest archetype, divine commander, gets a mount. At higher levels, the warpriest can enlarge himself using a spell that can't target the mount. This means that he can't ride the mount while large. How can he be large and remain mounted?
Ideas so far
1. Dire collar - huge mount for 10 rounds a day, maybe buy several?
2. Undersized mount feat - a large warpriest could ride a large mount, but the mount might be encumbered, it would cost a feat, and it would be ridiculous
3. Improved share spells feat- i dont like wasting feats, or heavy prerequisites

You just don't enlarge yourself while mounted. It is that simple. You do not need to enlarge yourself to do great damage as mounted.
Or take the Feat Undersized Mount.
Mounted combat is already feat intensive and if your not building for it then it is better to use your mount as a glorified transportation ability and be off it when in combat.
So really your left with:
Build for mounted including Undersized mount for when you can enlarge
or
Build for regular styles of Combat and climb off your mount to go into combat.

I am not sure exactly what method you are using for enlarge, but the share spells Animal Companion feature makes it unlikely that it is in fact a spell that can't target your mount.
Without the improved share spells feat you would of course have to cast the spell twice, once for you, once for your mount.

The Archetype calls out that the mount Loses the Share Spell among other things.

Improved Spell Sharing is in all ways better than Improved Share Spells. Though it does require some unique trickery to get the feat onto your mount.. 3 levels of hunter, a Horsemaster's Saddle, or a Hand of Glory with a Ring of Tactical Precision (though super expensive) are a few of the ways that can do this.

Of the 15 or so feats that I have on my 9th level worg-riding "hunter", only one of them is a mounted feat (Mounted Skirmisher via sohei monk) and we very effectively tear through most everything thrown at us.

Why do you want your mount to have this feat?

The divine commander would get it as a bonus feat since its a teamwork feat. Its a very efficient way to enlarge a mount. My question now is, does this let me cast personal spells (range "personal," target "you") on myself and the mount, just like the improved share spells feat? Bear in mind I don't have the share spells class feature.

Well Sohei does give you a High level mounted ability for full attacks. But for a PURE warpriest your not getting it until WAY late. Level 14+
Also when someone says Mounted Combat I instinctively go with Lancer builds. Because Mounted Archery would suggest Archery and Mounted Skirmisher would make me think about a Sohei style build.
But Usually a Mounted combat Build needs:
Mounted Combat
Ride By Attack
Spirited Charge
Power attack
Wheeling Charge or Escape Route
(Sometimes) Undersized Mount ((I prefer Halflings))
Risky Striker (If Halfling)
Improved Spell Sharing (Depending on Class)
Those are the feats I was referencing as being a bit more extensive.
But yes Sohei is a way to grab up Mounted feats faster for the Full attack Skirmisher style of Mounted combat. 1 level and your pretty much done.

I get why you would want it, I don't see why it would be desirable for your mount to have it.
I'm pretty sure that the feat assumes that you have share spells already, which is probably partially why it doesn't address that. As it is, the spell would have to be valid both for you and your mount in order to share it as far as I can tell. The feat itself doesn't do anything about personal spells or spells regardless of creature type, and if it doesn't say it it doesn't do it.

Your mount does not have to be a valid target for the spell because your mount is not targeted by the spell. Only you are targeted, though both of you are affected.

I think it is quite a stretch to assume that. The feat doesn't say that it does that.
In most cases it is a moot point, because most who would have, and want to use, this feat would have share spells. In this case though, it certainly does matter.

It doesn't need to say "this lets you bypass targeting restrictions" if that's implicit in what it does say, which it is.
