Laro Farfeet
I have my recruitment up for my campaign here You are all welcome to apply.
Aelerie Mirisen
I'm still here! I admit I lost my patience a few times during the outages (it's never been my strong suit) as every time I checked, the site was either down or it was about to go down while I was in the middle of making a post, but it's mostly illness that's kept me out until now. Feeling better and just started getting back into the swing of things last night.
I hope you get better soon, Laro.
Javell
I'm doing fine. The site's been extremely annoying, but other than that, I'm doing great, if still figuring out which campaigns I have or have not checked in with.
Albus Wodeward
Glad your feeling better Aelerie, Laro hope things are improving the invite to a new campaign seems to indicate that. Site seems more stable now (hurries to knock on wood, no jinxing!). Hopefully we can get back into the swing of things.
GM Stargin
Thus ends the guided tour section of the campaign. As always any and all feedback is appreciated in thread or DM or whatever.
I don't want to keep the group split for too long so Albus maybe we can do your Erastillian retreat in parallel or off camera? As you wish.
Whatever follow ups any of you wish to do is more than welcome as well.
Sorry for getting fired Laro. Buuut. you have more gold then you would have earned in a lifetime of clerking for the Consortium. and you have friendly contacts in there of course.
Albus Wodeward
Quite a lot to think about there GM Stargin. If you don't mind I'll take a day or two to think about it. I'm off to some medical tests today so I'll not be available for a while anyway.
Good job for a quiet interlude, interesting as to the details overlooked the first harried time. The challenges were light but very reasonable given how much better we've become. It's nice to have the made clear in a campaign, too often a series of ever greater foes are presented that leave an impression that the players aren't getting anywhere.
Have to go, bye!
GM Stargin
Hope your tests went well Albus.
So the next part is really up to you guys if you want it to be, Albus and Aelerie have things they want to do, if you guys could let me know how exactly they would go about doing it then I can set that up.
Javell, and Laro, you guys want to do anything? Maybe you guys could tag along with one of the other characters?
I've got a few adventure hooks I can pull if you guys want me too also.
Albus Wodeward
Sorry to take so long busy weekend.
Parallel is fine by me GM Stargin. The Greenfire circle as a whole would be very hostile to the Lumber Consortium but limited due to being composed of many factions, the Erastilians I see as the moderates because Erastil is not exactly a god of nature, he's the god of fields and forest, the god of (Demi-)humans relationship between themselves and nature. So the Green faith, Gozrehans, and the (mostly fey) Eldest worshipers would be even more hostile to the wanton destruction that has gone on for millennia, that has nearly ruined the Arthfell and Darkmoon forests. Unlike in the Verdunran forest though clearly the fey aren't as powerful there or the situation would be different.
I'm sure that Great Uncle Zoius would be a member, to recap his relationship with him here is the original post from way back in Dec. 2016!
Recap of (Great) Uncle Zoius from post seven:
So here's Uncle Zoius: An Uncle of Gaius, he's an Erastilian Druid, his wife passed a while ago and his children are long grown. His family is spread about the frontier of Andoran. He travels to various communities, helping farmers and woodsmen preaching harmony with the forests. Take only what you use or really need, do no lasting harm. Even clear cutting is okay if you turn it to farmland with care. Greed is wrong, it destroys communities, instead of building them. His crop blessings are much appreciated. He stays nowhere long, coming and going as he wishes. Not even Albus can figure out how he pops in and out of the Vale or elsewhere.
So after all the wall of text what Albus wants in simple: to deal with his guilt of the death of Java which he feels could have been avoided, of course since one of the primary purposes of the Greenfire Circle(GC) is suppressing werewolves they may feel differently. One of my purposes is to finally have Albus get his spells in a natural way. I think a contact spot on the north side of the river foam would exist, the GC using magic means to avoid having to use the ferry to maintain communications to the frustration of the LC. Albus knows where to go mostly likely in the wolf run hills just north of the river foam. By using water-walking or breathing, or tree teleports the GC could cross. These hills are infested with werewolves but dealing with them is what the GC does, but it's not completely safe, much less so for the LC so they don't go there. So that's where Albus will go.
I'll make a gameplay post sometime today, it's taking a bit of time and I have a few things to do, so go ahead and deal with the town stuff and I should rejoin there after.
Thanks for everything GM.
Edit Ninja'd by four minutes!
Edit 2 I've been inconsistent in spelling Zoius or Zaius or other thing but same guy just chalk it up to free spelling and a country accent.
Laro Farfeet
Laro doesn't really have any plans. He'd be happy to accompany anyone who asked him. He will keep his ear to the ground for information on what his former employers are up to. He doesn't want to get surprised if they come after him or the town guard.
Albus Wodeward
Okay, sorry for the wall of text, trying to find a way to write the gameplay post was difficult. I wanted a different way of things done and to create some mystery. Albus is a very minor initiate into the verrry old ways. Now there are a few points I tried to give here to make things a little simpler. The opening was just to give the GM an excuse to bend time to whatever he needs to make his timelines work. Most of the rest is just flavor leading to the reason why Albus is there. And to see what guidance he gets. (I think it would be a bit different than that the Lady Cirthana gave, at least in style.)
Now I do not expect, GM Stargin, that you take the time to write in this style, a quick and limited response would be fine. It took a long time to write this more than it should so don't feel like anything more than a normal response is expected. The hints I made can be ignored of course, however you want to play it.
I'll continue after the GM response and the intent is to go back to the village a somewhat more mature man and the goals set in my earlier post achieved.
Aelerie Mirisen
Sorry for the delay! I was out of commission most of the day yesterday with a migraine.
Anywho, assuming it's around dawn-ish by the time the group arrives back at the Hollow, Aelerie will have the visit with her mum, drop her bombshell, and then conjure up a horse and ride out to the lumber camp to find her dad. If she runs into Laro or Javell about town as she's leaving, she'd certainly tell them what she's up to but not impose by asking them to join her. She's pretty sure she can take the leering lumberjacks on by herself if she needs to. =)
Also, I hope you got the results of your tests back, Albus, and that everything is good!
GM Stargin
Don't apologize at all for the post Albus. I'm actually really happy that you're getting to explore Albus as a character. I can't promise that I'll always be able to respond in kind, but I'll certainly try!
Don't see why Laro and Javell wouldn't decide to come with Aelerie. But I'll leave it a bit ambiguous.
Albus Wodeward
Kind words indeed GM, glad people liked it. I think this will work to resolve some of Albus's current issues. The last part is his request to be initiated as a shaman of sorts i.e. get the spells I've been ignoring but flavor it as you choose. Maybe I get a medicine bag?
The horned god reference is to the theory that Erastil was once the master of the wild hunt in an age long lost to myth again treat it as you wish.
Awkward segue to medical tests - aside from taking more blood than I thought I had, the tests were swift and easy, I'll know more Monday when I meet with the doctor. (Vampires I tell you, Vampires run medicine! - Gets sedated taken to the happy place, long-term blood supply assure- erk! Just joking right?)
Albus Wodeward
I had hoped that you had picked up on the idea the Albus sort of went back in time before there were names only descriptions. So I wrote this response to deal with it and keep my idea going but it's your campaign and you can play it as you wish. Same regarding his Uncle/ Great Uncle if you want him to be Gaius (Albus's father) brother instead of uncle just let me know and I'll revise.
Short on time and energy now, seeing the doc soon about my significant weight loss so gotta run, thanks for everything GM Stargin.
Albus Wodeward
The tests came back normal no major issues for someone my age so the doc just upped my meds (not the recreationally "fun" ones, just boring) and we go from here.
That's okay, no need for a training montage they rarely work without a killer soundtrack which we don't have.
Aelerie Mirisen
Sorry for the delay in posting everyone. I should have something up as soon as my tea kicks in. I want to make sure I do right by your guys' posts. =)
I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving GM!
GM Stargin
Busy as always! Thanks for the kind wishes. And really thanks for being awesome players too! This is the deepest I've gone into homebrewing and you being awesome roleplayers makes it go easier than I could have hoped for and fun as well!
So are you guys going to split up in town to check on different people? Can I assume Albus will go to Laurel and Aeleire will go home to check on her mom?
It kinda makes sense for Laro to go along with Albus and Javell to go with Aelerie?
Aelerie Mirisen
Whew! Boy it takes a while for tea to kick in...
Thanks for creating such an engaging storyline, GM! It's definitely safe to say Aelerie would check up on her mother first, especially after Teedum's threat. Besides, she figures there isn't much use in planning for Vimea to hide away at Olfden if, you know, she doesn't actually want to go to Olfden.
Also, sorry I couldn't squeeze in a reference to the spell pouch Albus. Aelerie would probably go all fangirl when she realizes that ALBUS CAN USE MAGIC TOO! and the scene they're currently in didn't seem like the best time to have that sort of reaction. But I would like to have a scene between them about it soon.
GM Stargin
Alright, seems like you guys have bought some time andLaro and Aeleire have plans. Let me know what they are.
Are you guys going to meet up or turn in for the day. I'd say it's getting to be later in the evening. You guys have had a full day already even if it didn't take up much of your adventuring resources.
Aelerie Mirisen
So, Aelerie's plan is to warn Hildrensocks and see if he has any useful spells (either scrolls or in his spellbook) that may be of use—arcane lock would go a long way toward easing her mind when she has to leave home. And then she'll ask his opinion on how amenable the Darkmoon fey are to working together to launch an attack on the lumber camp. The enemy of my enemy and all that. And then if we want to meet last time to share what each group knows, we can do that. Or if we just want to fast forward to the next morning, that works too.
Albus Wodeward
Sorry about not posting today my sister had an unexpectedly lengthy operation today, so far so good, but she is weak. I'm not feeling so good myself today, I'll see about posting something tomorrow.
Albus Wodeward
My sister is doing as well as can be expected, she is a lot stronger so that's good. Feeling much better than earlier this week. I'm now hating on the exceptional cold in this area for Nov. I'm beginning to envy the birds flying (fleeing?) south, they have the right idea.
Also starting to get a little worried about Aelerie she hasn't posted on any of her campaigns since Nov. 1st. Are you okay Aelerie?
GM Stargin
Yeah, I'm starting to worry about Aelerie as well. Hope everything is good with you Aelerie!
What do you guys think? Should we pause? This part of the campaign is alright but the overall game has started to turn very heavily on NPCs related to Aelerie and I don't feel right about botting the character because of that.
Albus Wodeward
With the holidays here and Aelerie missing for now, I'm willing to pause for a bit. We can post in discussion every week or so just to check in and resume later at a good time. Hopefully everyone can be back in a bit.
