Mummy's Mask Background Help

Advice

So, I just got into a game that's running the Mummy's Mask AP. The current party is level 5 so I missed the introduction of characters. I've read the players guide and all but I still seem to have some writers block on how my character will be where the group is and why he is there.

I decided to take the Mummy-Cursed trait that reads

One of your ancestors ran afoul of a mummy’s curse while exploring an ancient tomb. This curse was passed down to later generations of your family, but over time, your line has become more resistant to curses. You’ve come to explore its untouched necropolis, and while you hope you won’t have to face a real undead mummy, at least you have some defense if you do.

I decided to make a Arcanist because the team needed a Arcane spellcaster,
he is Elf and really old. I was thinking on the lines of he wants to find a way to end the curse of his lineage for his children and grandchildren before he dies or grows too old to do anything about it.Maybe traveling from Sothis to Wati to either end the curse of find answers about it?

Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

You'll probably get more answers in the Mummy's Mask forum.

Assuming your GM is following the actual progression (don't read if you're still in book 1)...

My thoughts:
My memory is a bit rusty, but by now your party has actually faced a real undead mummy as well as a host of other undead. In fact, they're in the middle of putting down an undead uprising in the Necropolis itself. Quite the show, as a matter of fact.

Perhaps seeing what lies within the Necropolis leads you to believe that the source of the undead rising is the same as the source of your curse. Not only do you get to dig into the tombs themselves, but you also now have the hope of understanding your curse, if not outright ending it.

Ohh I like that, thank you Taks.
