Prerequisite(s): Investigator 7th level

Benefit: When an investigator succeeds at a Knowledge check to identify a monster‘s special powers or vulnerabilities, he can expend one use of inspiration as a swift action to grant allies within 30 feet that can hear him a +4 insight bonus on attack rolls against that monster or type of monster for 1 round.

OK, how on earth do people run this? Once you've made this check, can you just keep spending inspiration? Can you only do it the first time you encounter a creature type?

From a balance viewpoint, being able to do this every round is grossly over powered (remember it applies to you and a +4 to all attacks for 1 point is better than +1d6 to one attack you make) IMO.

From a "realism" viewpoint, I don't know why the investigator couldn't do this every round.

From a "trope" viewpoint, it does seem like something that would only use useful once per time you ever encounter the creature (at that point everyone knows what's up so pointing it out shouldn't really help).

Oyi. Feels like a badly written power, but I'm guessing I'm just missing something.

Pinging in the hopes of getting some discussion. I've found some discussions in the past, but not much out there really.
