<Happy dance!>
And is that a female elf and a male half-orc? Or is the "half-orc" something different (the skin doesn't look green)?
Interesting...
The current packaging image is a mockup, and I can assure you that the art team currently has no idea who the two non-Seltyiel characters in this deck are going to be. Which is to say, the images in the little circles got nothin' to do with nothin'.

Ahmotep is not an iconic.
That being said, staves should be supported.
Hi Zeroth,
As much as I am a full supporter to the fact that iconics are mandatory members of CD, I don't see why non-iconics already existing characters of the same class should be prohibited to gain access to membership.

Right, but I would be very surprised if they use one of their limited character slots to do another version of Ahmotep when they can unlock Ahmotep as an adventure reward somewhere down the line. They seem dedicated to the idea that there needs to be a version of the iconic in each class deck, so it seems wasteful to have two character revamps.

You don't need to unlock a character who is a member of the appropriate class for the deck to use them in Guild play. (Page 7 of the Guide to the Guild 4.1.) Some versions of some characters might not be very good with that deck (due to card selection) but you can give them a try if you want.
The unlocks have been allowing you to use characters of classes without decks with a different deck.
I'm fully expecting to see Seltyiel and two new characters, much like the other decks.

Completely agree. That's also why they should not do another Ahmotep, and why they should use the classes of class decks with the least amount of characters as a base for the next AP.
The iconics are given, but beyond them, new options are imho much more interesting than rehashing some stuff.
From a mechanical point of view, SnS Seltyiel has one role dedicated to SnS, whereas Ahmoteps roles are equally useful outside of MM, so it makes much more sense to make a set independent version of seltyiel.

*facepalm* Right. Duh. Makes my point even stronger.

I don't usually like to smash things, but when I do, I like to play a magus. Seltyiel was one of my favorite characters in S&S - he needed support, but if you gave it to him he could make devastating combat checks. I loved the Aqueous Orb / Sword combo...it was particularly satisfying to realize that he was even better augmenting spells with swords than he was powering swords with spells. Looking forward to this deck.
