alts, first month, after, alpha, and DT

I post this understanding that the Alpha will have multiple contracts on me each. But better that you know than advance unknowing (vs. better to ask forgiveness than wait for permission).

1) We can have many alts.
2) all EE accounts get one month free
3) alpha get free until OE

One interpretation is that during free, an account can have as many alts as wanted.

At beginning of month 2 EE must pay monthly on each alt because no alt can be played if not supported. Alts not paid for are essentially in status until paid for.

4) Explorers get month 2 free (their first) and can have as many alts as wanted to test system.
At month 3, Explores are like EE and must pay for alts that continue to play.

Please advise. I think this is in accord of what has been published. I thin that EE (and later must be allowed to generate as many alts as needed to investigate the system. I understand in earlier alpha only 3 alts could be maintained and that may be a restriction going forward.

Even with a 3 alt limit, these should be free parallel advancement the month. For EE and Explorer, I understand a published intent to have separately paid for.

And those who have DT have a second tied to ONE of those alts.

HOWEVER, ALPHA do not have to pay for alts! Free until OE is the contract!

At the beginning of EE you will have only one character per paid subscription. Free alts will not exist until the micro transaction system is implemented.

If we had free alts I'd fill every single available character slot with crafters. Would be crazy unbalanced/economy wrecking.

I thought you were supposed to be able to divide experience between alts though?

I could see paying even a couple months for my alt to level, but overall I'd like to divide it say... 18/6.

Celestialiar, that's the long term plan but will not be in place immediately.

Its possible in EVE to pay for a month or two training and then once the alt has minimal skills to do what it needs, just stop paying and use it for free.

When this came up a while back Ryan was pretty definite you will not be able to do this in PFO.

Hmmm. I wonder if he will prevent that by making un-subbed characters temporarily lose many of their skills or abolishing F2P.

He said they will have to offer F2P, so probably the former (or some other option). I believe they talked about capping free characters at a low level.
