Under spell turning it states that "spell-like effects targeted on you are turned back on the caster. The abjuration turns only spells that have you as the caster."
Grease specifically states that an object (or area) is the target.
Please tell me that I am correct in assuming that Grease is not turned even though there is a character making a Reflex save.

From the FAQ: Ring of Counterspells: Does this counter area spells such as fireball?
The ring only affects spells that target you, not spells that include you in the area. One possible interpretation is that the ring would make you immune to that casting of the spell (and the rest of the area would be affected normally), but that would require additional exlplanatory language and create strange situations where you'd be immune to control water or guards and wards and able to wander freely through such effects. Instead, it is clearer to adjudicate if the ring only affects spells targeting you.
I think that this answer applies in spirit and thus grease would not be countered. So yes, you are correct.
