So, Im rolling up backup characters for the Hell's Vengeance campaign I am running and one of them I decided would be a Kinetic Chirurgeon. Not optimal for a heal bot, but I decided it would be interesting to try. Now, one of the players has their character rolled up and they are one that will be healing off of Negative Energy. Rather than nixing it, I decided to see how the archetype would go with a few tweeks.
Not a brew so much as how I am houseruling it for the character.
Void Chirurgery: Void as element, gains void healer instead of kinetic healer. Can apply paladin mercies to void healer.
Metahealer: Things that are normally applied to kinetic healer are to void healer. Positive energy effects are swapped to negative energy effects.
Healing Buffer: Internal buffer can only be used for void healer, rather than kinetic healer.
To the point, i've a few questions to ask;
1. Is this route advisable? I know Kinetic Chirurgeon isn't the best heal-bot in the game, and this flip depends on the other characters either having a different source of healing or healing off of negative as well, but how well do you think it would function?
2. For such a character, do you have any recommendations for things the character to possess? Feats, traits, ect.

I think it's a very interesting tweak on things. It all looks good to me, not really changing a whole lot beyond allowing Void to work with that archetype. Void needs any help it can really get; especially Void Healing, because it doesn't make sense to give you the ability to heal undead, but not make your own?

That does seem to be an oversight.
Personally, I'd rule that Spark of Life would have a variant for that. Make it so if used from the standpoint of void you need to target a corpse (provided you want to make a corporeal undead creature) and raise it to be a CR appropriate undead creature. Based on the CR of the elementals available, we are looking about;
Summon Monster IV: CR 3 (Example; Wight)
Summon Monster V: CR 5 (Example; Wraith)
Summon Monster VI: CR 7 (Example; Specter)
Summon Monster VII: CR 9 (Example; Caller in Darkness)
Summon Monster VIII: CR 11 (Example; Devourer)
Conversely, instead of creating undead it could be used to create shadowfire elemental creatures of one step lower than normal (+1 for shadow creature template, additional +1 for Shadowfire creature template). Though, that I'd say would require one to have both Void and Fire elements. This is just a thought though.
Similarly, Greater Elemental Whispers would grant either a Beheaded or an Isitoq.

That actually looks like a very cool variant for Spark of Life! I don't see it being overpowered either.
Feat wise you want to basics for Kineticist: Point-Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Toughness, Weapon Finesse (if you want to be able to switch-hit). I can't really think of much else that really jumps out at me.
