Invisibility and control area spells as attacks

Advice

The part relevant to the question:
"The spell ends if the subject attacks any creature. For purposes of this spell, an attack includes any spell targeting a foe or whose area or effect includes a foe. Exactly who is a foe depends on the invisible character's perceptions. Actions directed at unattended objects do not break the spell. Causing harm indirectly is not an attack. Thus, an invisible being can open doors, talk, eat, climb stairs, summon monsters and have them attack, cut the ropes holding a rope bridge while enemies are on the bridge, remotely trigger traps, open a portcullis to release attack dogs, and so forth. If the subject attacks directly, however, it immediately becomes visible along with all its gear."

So, just to be sure if I read that right... I can cast area spells, like Entangle, for example, and leave them there, as long as the area doesn't include foes at the very moment of casting, and if later on anyone steps in the area, I'm still invisible and comfy.
Correct?

Keep in mind though, unless they're mindless, most enemies won't walk into an active entanglement field. Or any other visibly active spell effect.

Of course. Actually, I was thinking more about Spike Growth (which is mundanely undetectable) and other things.

Yes, you can - but most of those spells have a more dire affect if they are cast directly on a target, rather than the target wandering through.

You may still be invisible, but also you may not be being very effective.

Invisibility works best with summoning. Though a well placed pit or geyser can be useful. But I'd spend a round or two invisible summoning creatures and getting in a defensible position (or walls) and then begin cast spells directly at enemies.

As a side note I have in the past seen GM's rule that any offensive action dispel's the invis, so even cutting a rope on a rope bride would dispel the invis and the same GM would rule that commanding a creature to attack also negates the invis.
But I am glad that the rules in PF made it clear(er) just what can and cannot be done while under the effects of the spell.
