Rules Questions

Considering templates such as ogrekin, half X, lich, and the like. Do the listed attribute modifiers replace or stack with the base creature's modifiers? Logic tells me they stack, but I'm not finding specific rules to that effect. Is there a concrete statement?

Liberty's Edge

The template will usually say something like 'increase from the base creature'. If not, the default assumption with a list of bonuses is still that they stack.

If that isn't sufficient, you need only look at the examples accompanying various templates. For instance, the Half-dragon template comes with an example half-dragon basilisk;

Basilisk: Str 16, Dex 8, Con 15, Int 2, Wis 13, Cha 11
Template: Str +8, Con +6, Int +2, Cha +2.
Sample: Str 24, Dex 8, Con 21, Int 4, Wis 13, Cha 13

That's exactly how I have thought about it, and rationalized it. Started looking for exicit rule after conversation with a newer PF player in my group, new to PF but a vet gamer, very much a rule mechanic, always wanting to understand the gears and cogs under the hood. We don't have problems with "GM says so, trust me," but I like to point out the text when possible.
