Jack Chick no longer among the living

Comics

Jack Chick has entered the Dark Dungeon.

His tracts were fun to criticize.
(Best thing I can say about him)

Say "Hi" to Blackleaf.

There was already a thread about this that got locked, because, frankly, Paizo doesn't really want people gloating about Jack Chick's death.

Let's keep it classy, people, and remember Thumper's father's advice....

Good God those comics of his were terrifying. Lovecraft eat your heart out.

Never met him, don't know who he is, but I feel for his family, it's never easy when someone passes away.

I thought it was his mother...

Anyway Mr. Chick was probably the best unintentional satirist of our time. And I do believe in his warp religion he was trying to help people...so I hope he finally gets the joke.

I didn't see the other one, sorry. In any case, I'm not looking to gloat. If anything, I'm a bit disappointed. While I disagree with nearly every idea he ever published, I feel that his ideas were so extreme that he didn't do much harm either. More "guy on the street corner shouting about the end times" than charismatic leader.

I do wonder if Fred (Carter) will continue the business.

I know. For all that I'm sure he was sincere, it was all so over the top and got enough public exposure, I'm not at all sure his tracts didn't harm his cause more than help it.

I just can't imagine anyone not already in the bubble picking up one of those tracts and being convinced. While I can imagine who were considering a church being driven off by them.

Here's the quote:

THUMPER'S MOTHER: What did your father tell you this morning?

THUMPER: If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all.

For proof, here's a link.

I still say that the Chick tract Dark Dungeons is still my absolute favorite of these weird Christian comics.

A bunch of years ago, my friend Steve Ellis did the artwork for a Jack Chick parody tract about Cthulhu.

The Dark Dungeons movie is on Amazon Video, and free if you have Prime. It's a fun quick watch.

Yes, it's based on the tract, it's intentionally campy, and somehow it was officially licensed by Chick.

I stand corrected. It has been forever since I last saw Bambi.

If you want a reason to hate Jack Chick as the disgusting pile of scum that he is, or was, look up the comic he wrote called "Lisa." It is absolutely disgusting. All his comics are bad but that one is the absolute worst. The man deserves no respect whatsoever.

He already did the damage he was able to do. His death doesn't change anything. No use in mentioning it beyond to try to cure some of the poison he spread through the world.
